Sometime between January 10th and January 31st, please upload a very brief, 4-6 minute introduction video of yourself and post it on the Level 1 Facebook page and in your Moodle folder. Be sure to mention that you are a level 1 student. Mention your name, where you are from, name of ministry if you have one, or you are a part of one, maybe how long you've been dancing or what sort of training, if any, etc. Then mention why you decided to go on to take the course and what you hope to gain from it. It may not hurt to practice keeping it under 6 minutes:) I would preview it a few times to see how it looks before posting.

Photo/Bios

This next small section about you is for you, really, to help you in your dance ministry. It is required to help you get it on paper or prepared, just in case you are called out to minister in the dance. Of course, some of you may already have this and have been in ministry for a long time. You may simply hand in what you already have on hand. This may be a good opportunity to take another look at it or to update.

Short Biography (for a hand out) - This should only be about a paragraph - something that could fit in a small hand out for a conference. You want to put the most impressive accomplishments, perhaps education/training as it relates to dance, teaching experience, etc. You want people to say, "I'd LOVE to come to her/his class!" when they read it. If you don't have any dance or worship dance experience, please write about what training you do have (computers, design, etc.) and perhaps your heart of passion for worship and desire to dance for the Lord or something to that affect.

Photo - This should either be a beautiful dance picture or a nice looking head shot. You may post it in Moodle.

This is the old system, during transition here. Please place in Moodle, though.

Long Biography (for a web page) - This would go into much more detail and is something you would put in a web site. You may see mine as an example.

Again, please post in Moodle.

Recommendation Letters

• 2 Recommendation Letters - These must be from people who have either seen you dance extensively or teach or seen how you handle people. It is primarily a character reference letter. One may be from your Pastor. Both should be from people in some form of leadership. I understand that sometimes it takes a while for leadership to respond. Therefore this is the ONLY item I will allow to be late if absolutely necessary. But you are required to begin the process this month. Thanks.

• Video Upload of a Short Choreographed Dance - including at least 2 of the concepts in the Choreography book or video - This does not have to be long (around 2-4 minutes). I want to see that you know about and use some of the concepts from the Choreography video or book.
  • Please talk about which concepts you will be using before you present your dance.
  • An old, previous dance will be unacceptable.
  • You may even do it without music.
  • I really need to see about 4 counts of 8 using the concepts you will be talking about in the begining of the upload.
  • You do not need to present an entire dance (although we would love to see one). We really need to see clearly how some of the concepts from the book are used in movement.
• This is not the same as your Choreography upload assignment. This is your short choreographed dance. This is equivalent to your 1st semester final exam.
