May Creative Assignment - Create 1 exercise, using a Choreography techniques (found in either the Choreography book, video or Composition video) and talk about how you’d teach it to a group of 100 people. May Writing Assignment - Write about Flags/Banners. The 200-400 word essay must include:
Where to Purchase Flags - Research at least 2 nice sites.
Try to research and choose sites that the other students have not picked and try to look for those hard to find sites of really nice flags. Please don't just pick those top advertised sites. Find the not well known, but who have lovely silk flags for example. Those who get this essay in first have the most choice of sites. Remember, you must come to the OTHER LINKS page first to see about what sites the others have written and then choose 2 different sites.
While on this page, check for duplications and links that do not work and let Lynn know. This will be a great way to see the many flag and garment sites that are available and what they are like.
Choose one of them and do a "pretend" order. Share your experience with that particular site, like why you would have chosen that one from where to purchase.
What would be the significance to your spiritual journey, in choosing that particular site.
Be sure to include the entire URL of the sites in the essay.

June Creative Assignment - Choreograph a dance for 6 people (real or imagined), utilizing concepts from the Choreography book. Video upload. Be sure to mention which concepts will be used before presenting. Try to use a group if you can. If you can't, try to show us, talking it through as you go. For example: These three people would begin here. Then they would all run in a circle to the left, making their way to in front of the front line... etc. So, sort of move through the movements and directions that people will go.
A good example is in the Expressive Worship and Dance DVD. That is a choreographed dance for six people.

July Creative Assignment - Create 1 exercise from the Processionals, Props book and talk about how you’d teach it to groups of 20 and 100 people. So, if you had a group of 20 people, how would you execute the exercise as opposed to a group of 100 people? This could be like creating walking/floor patterns or doing something with banners/flags. Be creative. This is an essay.
To clarify a little bit - Please don't create a dance or even a processional. What I mean is something like this: If I had a group of 20 people, I'd divide them up into 4 groups of 5 people each. I would assign each group one of the floor pattern ideas found (in color) in the PPP book. I would ask the group to come up with 4 counts of 8 to create that shape or floor pattern. Then have them demonstrate it. They should keep their actual movements simple, but emphasize the walking patterns.
OR Here is another idea - take the group of 100 people and divide them up into 10 groups of 10 people each. Based on the diagraming section of the PPP book, I would tell each person in each group to each take a piece of paper and divide it into 10 sections. Each person in the group take one of the squares. Inside the square, they would come up with some movement to do for 10 people. After each person has created their bit of movement or pattern, then they all share and 'try' to put something together, connecting each person's square. So, #1 would share their square and teach the group. Then #2 would add theirs to that and so on until all 10 people have put something toward the finished product. The movement inside each person's square must be of utmost simplicity in order for it to work and not take all day!
In other words, you don't have to come up with choreography. You need to come up with an exercise you could assign during a conference.
